Now that we are all at the half-way point, I’m answering questions for the mid event survey.

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now?

“Interpreter of Maladies”, by Jhumpa Lahiri.

2. How many books have you read so far?

Two.  I’m currently on my third.

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?

The one I’m currently reading.  I’m only a few pages in.

4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?

Not really, my family has been bothering me less than usual :-) , and my husband has ordered pizza!

5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?

Just a few; I remind them I’m busy reading!

6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

How fun it has been to go around leaving comments, as a cheerleader!  I am going way beyond my initial commitment of one hour.

7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

Remind people many, many times to make it easier to leave comments on their blogs (such as omitting word verification for the day).

8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?

I’d pick a lot more shorter books for my read-athon pile.  Most of the ones I picked are just too long.  I do have my regular TBR pile to fall back onto, though!

9. Are you getting tired yet?

No.  It’s only 6:30 pm right now for me; I actually think the next few hours will be the most productive, especially after everyone else goes to bed.

10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?

Again, to pick shorter books for reading during the read-a-thon!
