Our theme for this month’s ATC group meeting was “EGGS”. I wanted to do something different, so came up with caviar–which, of course, is fish eggs. I did a little bit of online research and found quite a few caviar facts, from wikipedia. The word caviar itself is believed to be originally derived from the Persian word “khaya”. The Russians call it “ikra”, which is what I chose to use for my ATC cards, and using their Cyrillic alphabet. I have mini art beads (beads without holes) that to me look like caviar, so it was perfect for this project! Here is one of my cards:

Below are the cards I received at yesterday’s trade. My kids especially liked the shark card which is meant to stand on its’ own (they always enjoy looking at all the different ATCs when I bring them home from the meetings). I wish this was a better picture of them all!

Last night, much later after the ATC trade, the kids dyed easter eggs. Looking forward to lots of egg salad and deviled eggs for a while!

Then this morning–Easter morning–we woke up to this (below). It has snowed all day today and has been a wet, heavy snow.
Today was a mellow, laid back day after the initial excitement of the kids checking out their baskets. So lazy that I haven’t even read anything other than the newspaper! I did make Easter dinner, though. Hope it was a pleasant weekend for you all.
***********Don’t forget to enter my book and ATC give-away! Deadline April 20th.

I really love your “eggs”. How creative to think of caviar as your egg project. Somehow the background fabric looks familiar. Seems like I had some like that at one time. Loved looking at all you received also. I know this is a fun process for you.
