Sorry yo’re hearing from me again so soon–but I want a chance to win the prizes associated with this survey
. I’ll be repeating myself a bit from the last post, I’m afraid.
Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now?“Because They Wanted To”, stories by Mary Gaitskill and “The Genius of Language: Fifteen Writers Reflect on their Mother Tongues”, edited by Wendy Lesser.
2. How many books have you read so far?
2 completed. 2 currently reading, and will start a fifth (“Water for Elephants”) as soon as I post this blog.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
I think “Water for Elephants”. If I finish that, I’m considering looking at my TBR pile and seeing if there’s something there I’m more in the mood for than what’s left from what I set aside for the read-a-thon.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day?
Not really. We’re pretty much snowed in, and my husband’s home, so it’s been going smoothly so far for my reading!
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
A few from the kids, but nothing serious enough to remind anyone that I needed to keep reading!
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
How much fun it is (this is my first one)
.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
I can’t think of anything at this point.
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year?
I would have better food around! There’s something about reading all day that makes me have the munchies!
9. Are you getting tired yet?
No, since it’s not yet 7pm. I’m guessing around 10 or 11pm I will start feeling tired.
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered?
I don’t know, since I’m a newbie at this!

That’s great that you are not tired yet! Keep up the great reading!
Um, I REALLY want to read that Genius of Language book right now!!! Can’t wait to see your thoughts on it.
I’m cheerleading since I don’t think I can commit to reading all day-unless I was snowed in. Perfect!
I really liked Water For Elephants! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Best of luck with the reading.
